Q
How did you first decide to become a physical therapist?
I first decided to become a physical therapist because even when I was a child I always felt that professionals in the healthcare industry possessed a kind of ‘halo effect.’ They help patients regain their health through their expertise, and this ability deeply moved me. I hope that through my efforts, I can help more people restore their health and improve their quality of life.

Q
It sounds like you’ve taken a lot of inspiration from others. Who was your biggest role model growing up?
Throughout my childhood, my biggest role model was my mother. She not only worked diligently but also consistently upheld the principles of integrity and kindness. She taught me how to face challenges, how to care for others, and always lead by example, encouraging me to pursue my dreams. From her, I learned so much—not just about career aspirations, but also about attitudes and values in life. I firmly believe that someone who excels in one field can also achieve excellence in others.

Q
When it comes to physical therapy, what are some of your specialties?
-
Sports injury rehabilitation(muscle strains, ligament tears, joint sprains)
-
Chronic pain management (neck, shoulder, lower back)
-
Orthopedic post-operative rehabilitation (fracture, ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair)
-
Sports recovery(DOMS, post-game recovery)
Q
Do you have a story or experience that you would like to share from treating any patients?
I once treated a middle-aged female patient who suffered from shoulder pain and limited mobility due to a rotator cuff injury. She was unable to perform daily activities like dressing and combing her hair, which significantly impacted her quality of life. She had tried various treatment methods before, but with little success.
When I first saw her, I conducted a thorough assessment and, based on her physical examination results, developed a personalized treatment plan for her. After several months of treatment, her pain significantly decreased, and her range of motion improved considerably. This experience deeply reinforced my sense of value as a physical therapist and strengthened my commitment to helping patients. I realized that physical therapy is not only about restoring physical function but also about helping patients regain their confidence and independence in life.

Q
What a great story. What do you see as one of the biggest challenges with patients?
I believe that a patient’s understanding of rehabilitation directly affects their willingness to actively engage in treatment. Many patients, due not fully recognizing the importance of rehabilitation, miss the optimal window for recovery and ultimately need more time and effort to make up for what they have lost. As a physiotherapist, our responsibility is to help patients properly understand the progression of their condition and implement scientific intervention methods.
Q
Thanks for sharing! To finish, is there anything you would like to add about being a physical therapist and your approach to helping others heal?
As a physical therapist, I believe that rehabilitation is a personalized process that requires a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s physical condition, needs, and goals. I focus on scientific, systematic treatment methods and continuous improvement in my professional field, combining patient education to help them gradually restore function, enhance self-management skills, and ultimately achieve comprehensive recovery.
